Joan Karen Gaut Commended for Deeds in Education

Ms. Gaut is celebrated for her achievements as an educator and school board trustee with the Fairfield-Suisun School Board

FAIRFIELD, CA, December 30, 2020, Joan Karen Gaut has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Hailing from a town of 250 citizens, Ms. Gaut spent much of her childhood garnering expertise in several musical disciplines. Throughout her formative years, she slowly realized she desired a career that facilitated and nurtured the learning experiences of young children. After completing a preparatory nursing program during high school, Ms. Gaut resolved to pursue a professional future in formal instruction.

Initially enrolling at California State University, Chico, Ms. Gaut began her higher education by earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Afterwards, she obtained her teaching credentials from the California Department of Education and her public health nursing credentials from Sacramento State University. Ms. Gaut concluded her edificatory ventures by attaining her life teaching credentials from Saint Mary’s University.

Ms. Gaut began accruing proficiency in the educational sector as a public school nurse. Afterwards, she cultivated a lauded reputation as a music teacher through the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. Currently, Ms. Gaut excels as a private music instructor with the Make a Joyful Noise Music Studio and a board trustee for the Fairfield-Suisun School Board.

Regarding her philanthropic endeavors, Ms. Gaut maintains her affiliations as the president of Music for Our Children, Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Club, and as an active member of the Mission Evangelism Committee with the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, choir member and accompanist substitute for the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, Pedal for Protein, and Heifer International, to name only a few. As a testament to her efforts, the Fairfield Union Teachers Association designated her as the Teacher of the Year from 2008 to 2009. Moreover, she has been acknowledged with a Woman of the Year Award and the Fairfield City Volunteer of the Year Award. Ms. Gaut also maintains her involvement with the California Teachers Association, the Performing Arts Network and the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Association, among others. Looking toward the future, she plans to travel to Africa, Spain and Austria while persisting in her musical pursuits.
